René Dörfelt Dr. med. vet., Dipl. ECVAA, Dipl. ECVECC

European Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care and Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. Dr. Dörfelt studied at the University of Leipzig in Germany, where he obtained his specialist qualification in 2003. After completing his doctoral thesis on haemodialysis and an internship at the Small Animal Clinic of the Free University of Berlin, he worked at the Norderstedt Veterinary Clinic in Germany from 2005 to 2007, before completing a residency in anaesthesia and analgesia at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. Since 2011, he has been Head of the Emergency and Critical Care Department at the Small Animal Medical Clinic of Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany. In addition to holding the diploma of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Dr. Dörfelt also holds the diploma of the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

MVDr. Peter Mláka

MVDr. Peter Mláka is an experienced veterinarian with many years of experience in small animal medicine. He graduated from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno, where he studied from 1991 to 1997, and has been working at the Veterinary Practice Ejmi Bojnice since 1999. His professional work focuses primarily on cardiology and orthopedics. In the field of cardiology, he specializes in echocardiography, ECG, and PDA surgeries, while in orthopedics, he specializes in fracture surgeries, advanced stabilization techniques, patellar luxation, and arthroscopy. He also develops his professional experience over the long term through specialized courses and internships, including with Dr. Karel Najman and within the international ESAVS Cardiology program in Luxembourg and Vienna.

We cordially invite you to the Anaesthesiology Seminar in Brno, which will take place on September 26, 2026 in the congress facilities of the AVANTI Hotel, offering a comprehensive professional program focused on injection anesthesia and the use of alpha-2-agonists in sedation and general anesthesia of dogs and cats.

During the all-day meeting, René Dörfelt, Dipl. ECVAA, Dipl. ECVEC, and MVDr. Peter Mláka will speak, sharing their experiences, model procedures, practical cases and recommendations for patient monitoring, resolving complications and the role of Zenalpha in current veterinary practice.
